‘‘To describe my art is to reflect back to my forefathers. As I am limited in what I know, or can reveal, about the ancient Anishinaabe ceremonies and Seven Grandfather Teachings, the challenge for me lies in creating abstract, modernly stylized jewelry designs and colorful, expressive paintings to represent the ancient and the sacred. Studying and admiring the contemporary work of the Medicine (Woodland Art) Painters helps me in this process.’’
